LAUNCH 2020-21
Educational Plan for Lighthouse Christian School

Lighthouse Christian School is continuing to closely monitor the changes and updates regarding Covid-19.  Our campus is scheduled to open on September 2, unless government authorities mandate that schools remain closed. School leadership recognizes that some families may not be comfortable with their child(ren) returning at this time and has developed two educational options:  On-Campus Learning (5 days per week) and Online Learning.

A Message from Stephen Roddy  |  Head of School

Dear Lighthouse families,

It has been a challenging summer as change has become a consistent part of life right now. At this time, Lighthouse is planning to provide in-person, on-campus instruction along with quality options for concurrent online learning beginning Wednesday, September 2nd. We will remain flexible to respond to the health and safety needs of our families and staff, as we continue to provide quality, Christ-centered education for every student. Lighthouse school leadership will be mindful of all state and local guidelines, taking into consideration employee and parent feedback, when making decisions about school operations.

Attached is the current comprehensive plan for the opening of school: Launch 2020-21.  It has been a team effort involving all school stakeholders to formulate the direction we will be taking.  This plan includes:

    •  Overall guidelines for operations
    •  Full in-person education option
    •  Online education option
    •  Guidelines for hybrid or distance learning if needed
    •  How to stay connected

Although our plans may need to change over the coming month, we believe this plan provides the most likely overall summary of school operations this fall. We are also looking at the applicable tuition rates.  The board of directors and administration are analyzing tuition rates as related to operational costs. This will help to keep the school as accessible as possible while providing financial sustainability and good teacher/staff compensation. Communications regarding tuition will be forthcoming.  As in all things, we lay these plans at God’s feet, seeking to do His will. We will also be conducting a virtual town hall meeting for LCS families on Tuesday, August 4th at 6:30 PM to discuss Launch 2020-21 and answer questions.

When talking about the future of our school, I am reminded of our history and the mission and values that have guided our school’s operations. Lighthouse Christian School was started by parents who wanted a school to train their children to be Christ centered and to set a Biblical foundation for every student. Lighthouse stays committed to providing quality Christian education that will nurture the whole child.  Our world needs future leaders who build their character and make decisions based on Biblical principles. In order for our students to thrive, they need a Biblical worldview to provide meaning & purpose in life and to meet the potential of how God has designed them. I believe every student needs consistent and loving instruction to make a positive impact in the community to the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank you for your continued partnership. I look forward to the many conversations that will be had over this month in preparation for Launch 2020-21.  May the Lord bless and guide you with His wisdom.

Living to serve,

Stephen Roddy
